With the AI Impact Award, manager magazin and Porsche Consulting jointly honor outstanding and impactful solutions using artificial intelligence in the industrial sector. What makes this award special, why practice matters, and what she is most looking forward to – Simone Salden, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of manager magazin, shares in a short interview.
Does Germany really need another AI award?
Absolutely! There are already industry conferences and some awards in the German-speaking world – and that’s a good thing – but our focus is clearly on “impact”! With the AI Impact Award, we want to recognize concrete use cases where AI proves effective and delivers measurable added value. This award is explicitly not about theory, but about practice!
Why is it so important to highlight real-world cases?
Because only in practice does the true benefit of AI for people and businesses become clear and tangible. And because we all need role models. As a journalist, I believe it’s essential to discuss what isn’t working optimally in the German economy. Location analyses are important to drive change. But together with Porsche Consulting, we at manager magazin also want to shine a spotlight on the future-makers. We want to honor people who see challenges not just as risks but as opportunities. These are the people who move the German economy forward.
What are you most looking forward to at the award ceremony in spring?
I’m especially excited to learn the fascinating stories behind the projects and celebrate all the “problem solvers” who made them possible. It’s impressive to see how smart and creative companies are in applying AI. And how, in the end, it’s always people who make the decisive difference.
