The future was the focus of the anniversary celebration for the management consultancy founded in 1994.

When the management consultancy known as Porsche Consulting was launched as a subsidiary of the sports-car maker in 1994, its four-member team occupied a small office in the Stuttgart district of Zuffenhausen. A quarter of a century later, it is a globally active company with around 650 employees at currently nine locations in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Eberhard Weiblen, the Chairman of the Executive Board—who as employee number five has been with the company for twenty-four years—welcomed 160 guests to the Porsche Museum for the anniversary festivities, including many long-time clients from large corporations and medium-sized companies as well as board members from the Porsche and Volkswagen Groups.

One of the well-wishers was Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG. He explained the basis for the management consultancy’s unbroken success to the assembled guests as follows: “With their wide-ranging experience from different branches of industry, Porsche Consulting’s experts have the advantage of being able to turn their analytical gaze onto their clients from outside. They can take a stronger and also more radical lateral approach because they are not caught up in the internal processes that accrue over decades. This is very helpful for companies that need to undergo transformation in order to remain viable for the future.”

“I am not aware of any other management consultancy that grew out of the practical experience of an industrial company and thereby enables many other industries to profit,” said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG. The Porsche Group itself benefits from the consultancy’s services. As he added, “Together with teams from Porsche Consulting we are developing sustainable solutions and ensuring smooth implementation—which by no means every consultancy can provide. The consultants enjoy a high level of respect at all levels of Porsche because they always focus on the people. Guides of this type are valuable to every company—all the more so during times of transformation.”

Eberhard Weiblen, the head of Porsche Consulting, emphasized the importance of looking to the future instead of the past at the anniversary celebration. “We as businesspeople have the opportunity, the job, and the obligation to make the world a better place. A place where we demonstrate that the economy, the environment, and social responsibility can all be balanced.” With an eye to the major transformation underway in business and industry, Weiblen added, “The know-how is here. We just have to add the ‘know-why’.”
