Mit 2,7 Kilometern Länge ist die 2012 fertiggestellte Unstruttalbrücke (Höhe: 49 Meter) zwischen Erfurt und Leipzig das zweitlängste Brückenbauwerk der Bahn in Deutschland. Sie ist Teil einer 2,8 Milliarden Euro teuren und 123 Kilometer langen Neubaustrecke. Auch für solche Jahrhundertprojekte braucht das Infrastruktursystem Schiene mehr Planungsstabilität – insbesondere bei der Finanzierung.
